Re: Show me your SCOPES !
I don't have shots of just the scopes but here is a list
4 each Bausch & Loumb Elite 4000 6 x 24 on 3 Savages and a Colt AR flat top Springfield 6 x 20 "Government Model" on a Savage Mod 12 Burris 3 x 9 pistol scope on my Thompson Center Contender Nightforce 12 x 42 on my long range competition rifle. I shoot this at up to 1,000 yards. I've got 4 different caliber barrels to fit this rifle. This scope is set using 20 MOA tapered rings. March 40 on my BR rifle. This scope type is very new and is built one by one by hand by a single technician. 3 red dot sights on a couple of 22 pistols and a 10/22. I've got these pictures handy. http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x...rom/rifle1.jpg http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x...from/panda.jpg http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x...20stuff/AR.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3225/...84d6cc5b_b.jpg |

Your Bushnell Elete is the same scope as my Bausch & Loumbs, just a bit newer. Excellent scope for the money, that's why I have 4 of them though when I got those they could be had for around $250 from SWFA. Nightforce may be the best scope in the world regardless of price. Great optics, VERY durable and they hold point of aim despite getting knocked around. You will find them to be very heavily represented in the military and anywhere a long distance competition is going on. I agree with you, ditch the cheap scopes, who needs to go through all the trouble to get to the point where you are shooting the shot, whether in competition or a hunt, only to put yourself at the mercy of an unreliable POS? I've run or helped run hundreds of rifle matches. In spring 2007, three new guys showed at a match, two of whom had bought brand new bolt action FN 308s, with which they were going to show us how to do it. Before starting the 1st relay, I always have a sight in period because there is always someone who doesn't know what zip code he is shooting into. There are a few tricks to make this easy if someone is way off. One of the new FN guys couldn't get his scope on even with the tricks. I went to look at his scope and found he had put a $75 BSA scope on his $1,700 FN. When all else failed, we went down range and put up a 4 foot square piece of cardboard at 100 yards and boresighted on the center of that. That scope was shifting point of aim by over 1-1/2 FEET at every shot. I came to understand that BSA scopes are designed and manufactured by PETA and function exactly as desired. Using a cheap scope on a good or better rifle is like putting a Tohatsu 25 hp outboard on a 30 foot Grady White, you've destroyed the function. |

I'm right impressed with that 10/22. What are the details on that, especially the barrel?
